Robert Scoble a noted blogger has blogged numerous articles and now I might get to meet him
Published on November 11, 2005 By Clonmelchat In Blog Communities

Robert Scoble a noted blogger has blogged numerous articles on many subjects but the most interesting of all is how he is honest and open about the inner workings of Microsoft. Scoble's observations of Microsoft point to a crumbling silicone wall of secrets where only the inner microsoft family gossip. Microsoft has been for me and many other students at Tipperary Institute a superpower giant standing on our ideas. We the student body rely on microsoft software to provide the tool of our future employment. Unfortunatly microsoft knows this and seems to get pleasure in pricing MS software on the top shelf of resources. Scoble opens the gate into the mind of microsoft exposing their sucess along with their flaws. Due to articles written by Scoble with honesty I have decided to make an efford to return to blogging once again. Anyone who read some of my blogs before will have noticed I disappeared from the blogging world a while back. I now offer my apoligies and will try to make an efford. I'm currently in my final year at Tipperary Institute completing my Bsc in Multimedia and Communications degree. This gives me little time for anything else including blogging.

Now my calender is marked for the IT@Cork where Robert Scoble will talk about Blogging for Business, unfortunatly my student wallet is not even close to buying a glimpse of the man who is the honest voice of microsoft. Bernie Goldback one of the many lecturers at Tippinst hopes to bus a number of us to Cork . It's well worth the journey and a number of fellow students have asked about this Scoble fellow. I tried my best to explain how he promotes Microsoft products like Tablet PCs and Windows Vista, yet at the same time criticises his own employer and praises its competitors (like Apple and Google). They just looked at me with confused stares. This is why Robert Scoble has become so popular in the blogging community. Scoble became a topic of conversation during one of the lectures as Bernie Goldbach explained about his podcasts and we later heard the voice behind the blog. After almost an hour of Scoble podcasting the name was echoed in the college corridors as discussions about this man spread.

Scoble now has the chance to infulence the younger generation of bloggers in ireland by speaking during one of our lectures. I know if this invitation was accepted the doors would be jammed as students tryto see this man who has made such an impression on the net. Cork is only an hour from Clonmel and I'm sure his face would be welcome as a guest speaker. Anyone interested here is the man himself. Notice the microsoft id which is a rare sight for us students and one we hope to see close up.

I hang out with Scoble at trade shows.  He's a really good guy -- though not very popular with some parts of Microsoft due to his candid nature.

Thats what I heard too. The students of Tipperary Institute believe anyone who speaks candid and honest deserves their attention. What are the chances he might be a guest speaker expressing that candid nature in front of future bloggers.

I look forward to seeing you there.
Robert has a noted presence in the blogging community and if he's willing to be a guest speaker in Tipperary Institute let me know.

Bernie Goldbach has been speaking I believe to someone, but maybe I should e-mail Robert with a polite invitation to discuss it further
