Nokia poly ringtones and backrounds for free

While playing around with ringtones using data cables I decided to see if there was any way to send ringtones to my nokia 3510 for free. Guess what yes it's possible and no software is needed.

You can create your own tones as a midi file and find a program to convert it to mid.
Once the file is uploaded to your web server all your friends can download it at any time.
you could create your own library of tones and images.
I believe you can also use this to download animated screensavers but I have not tried this yet.

I have done this over 20 times already and used the same technique on other wap enabled phones.
Example:
Choose your poly tone and make sure its no more than 1 minute as the file size may cause errors.
Upload the file to a web server.
Use your wap phone to download the file and save it.

I will give full details here at a later time depending on interest level.

Example order a ringtone from any ringtone servive and it costs from 2.50 4.50 euro use this method and it costs between 9 cents and 12 cents depending of rates. Please more details. Do you think you can list the phones that it can be done with (or is that too hard to do) Very insightful into avoiding the crazy telecommunication giants

Yes, please provide details, sounds like a great idea. UpsideDown, i would assume that it works with all nokia polyphonic phones with WAP, possibly even other manufacturers.

I will create a webpage with details and images to follow on it over the next 5 days.
Also as to what phones it works on so far all phones with WAP if there polyphonic for poly tones and if not just upload the other tones, if you can order a tone then this system should work for you.

I will get to work on the website now as it easier to follow. If you have any tones you want list them and I will see if I can get them.

First do you have wap on your phone.
Are you able to upload images to the web.
Now go to the website for details.

If not contact me. Search the web for images to suit you and tell me what phone you have.
Then I will upload athe image to one of my sites and give you the wap address.
You then type the address into your bookmarks and when you go to the site the image should download immediately.
just save to your phone.
it's simply but if you have difficulty I will be creating a better web site soon with more details and sample uploads included.
